My Name is Red by Orhan Pamuk is one of the great novels of contemporary world literature. This study applies multicultural theory to analyze the work, affirming that it represents a discourse that promotes a multicultural spirit, both in ideological content and textual structure. Orhan Pamuk constructs a world of characters divided between “the East” and “the West” to express the intersection of Eastern and Western cultures; he establishes artistic creation as the central axis, and organizes the text to resonate with multiple voices and perspectives.
