STEM education is an educational model studied and tested in general education programs in recent years. In this study, we focus on analyzing the characteristics of the STEM edu-cation model, the functions and components of the Math function in STEM education, STEM problem situations in teaching Math, and forms of teaching organization according to the STEM education orientation. On that basis, we pro-pose to build a STEM educational environment in teaching math to exploit the components of math function in the high school program. We also propose illustrative examples in the current high school mathematics curriculum.
