Flavonoids and steroids from roots of Millettia speciosa

Abstract
Study on extracts of Millettia speciosa roots collected at Nghe An Province led to the isolation of two flavonoids, pterocarpine (1), quercetin-3-O-[-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(16)--D-glucopyranoside (2) and two steroids, -sitosterol (3), daucosterol (4). Their structure elucidation were determined on the basis of one and two-dimensional NMR and spectrometric methods in combination.
