Vocational training, job creation and sustainable poverty reduction are major policies of the Party and State and the responsibility of the entire political system. However, the quality of human resources in rural Vietnam still remains modest. This article aims to assess the current status of vocational training in rural areas in order to propose solutions to enhance the effectiveness of this policy. Using statistical method and document analysis, this study outlines the current status of vocational training for rural workers, evaluating the achievements and shortcomings. On that basis, some solutions are proposed to strengthen vocational training for workers towards sustainable poverty reduction in rural Vietnam.
