This study aims to assess the potential and propose a system of strategic solutions for green tourism development in the UNESCO Global Geopark of Dong Van Karst Plateau, Tuyen Quang Province. The research combines field surveys at typical tourist routes and destinations with secondary data analysis; the SWOT analysis method is employed to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, thereby developing appropriate solutions. The results indicate that the Dong Van Karst Plateau area possesses significant advantages for developing various forms of green tourism, including global geological heritage tourism; ecotourism and adventure tourism; historical and cultural heritage and festival tourism; as well as community-based tourism and traditional handicraft villages of ethnic minorities. However, green tourism development in this area still faces several limitations, such as a shortage of high-quality human resources, inadequate and inconsistent service infrastructure, and ongoing challenges in heritage conservation. Based on these findings, the study proposes several solutions, including: developing distinctive tourism products; upgrading infrastructure and managing destinations toward sustainability; enhancing high-quality human resources; and improving mechanisms and policies to encourage investment, thereby promoting sustainable and effective green tourism development in the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
