Dear Colleagues,

For many years, this journal has been a vehicle for the delivery of timely and thoughtful information and opinions on the many issues that involve the VUJS community. Firstly, I would like to thank all the past editors-in-chief for their service to our readers. And I appreciate and acknowledge the scientists who are authors and our reviewers for their valuable contributions to the today's success of the journal.

After much effort by all VUJS members over the years, the journal has now been officially accepted to become a member of the Crossref organization - an official digital object identifier (DOI) Registration Agency of the International DOI Foundation. In this letter, I would like to share my knowledge about what advantages we could get from becoming a Crossref member.

Firstly, VUJS has become a Crossref member, which means that VUJS is now able to get access to all the benefits of Crossref membership. VUJS will join a community of publishers who are all linking to each other persistently through their references. VUJS’s metadata will be shared with hundreds of organizations in the scholarly ecosystem, helping to make its articles more discoverable and benefiting the entire scholarly community.

Secondly, by becoming a Crossref member, VUJS will be able to take advantage of Crossref’s services, such as content registration, the Funder Registry, Similarity Check, Cited-by and Crossmark, etc. And, of course, being members of Crossref means that now the journal is able to create a persistent identifier for each citable article that you publish with us.

Joining Crossref is much more than just getting a DOI – VUJS is now committing to a long-term relationship with your content and metadata, and to the rest of the community once your article is published with us.

Because you’re the author of your creative work, so citations to your published articles matter. Then, once you publish your work with VUJS, you will benefit from, but not limited to following advantages:

  • Indexation in CrossRef gives authenticity to your article. It increases acceptance of research data as legitimate and citable contributions to the scholarly record.
  • Published article with VUJS is assigning Digital Object Identifier (DOI): DOI enables your published article to be cited properly, thus provides accurate number of citations and also increase the visibility of your work. Your research data is accepted as legitimate and citable contributions to the scholarly record.
  • Your article has a metadata record: Crossref provides robust, accurate metadata that helps make your article content more discoverable to readers from all around the world, requiring just an internet-connected electronic device.
  •

No longer waste efforts in publishing without DOI. Let's get proper indexation and citation to your valuable article by publishing it with VUJS - It will assign your work with a DOI.

    Thank you!
