On the basis of the relationship between the two countries Vietnam - Laos, the economic and trade cooperation between the two provinces Savannakhet and Quang Tri is also established in a sustainable way. This study first analyzes the similarities between the two provinces - the basis for their commercial cooperation. Based on the analysis of archival documents of Quang Tri Province, the article outlines the highlights of the trade relationship between the two provinces from 1989 to 2017. The analysis results show that the trade relationships between Savannakhet and Quang Tri are more and more developed, but they are still deficient and not commensurate with the potentials of the two provinces. This suggests further researches on solutions to promote effective trade cooperation between these two provinces in particular and the two countries Vietnam - Laos in general.
