In the current global context, there is an increasing focus on environmentally friendly and safe solutions, and the exploitation of biodegradable resources is becoming extremely urgent. Research on optimizing the starch transformation process through oxidation with KMnO4, using a KMnO4 ratio of 25%, reaction time of 30 minutes, and temperature of 35 ÷ 40˚C. With this method, modified starch has higher gel strength, viscosity and solubility than native starch. Furthermore, the processing of modified rice starch into rice straws is presented, an environmentally friendly product that minimizes waste and does not harm the health of humans, animals, and plants.
